Thermal transfer printing is a type of printing that uses heat to melt wax onto a surface. With the LabelTac printer series specifically, it uses print ribbon and vinyl label supply to create durable and professional grade labels. In the printing process, the ribbon is comparable to the ink and the supply is the paper. In this post we will look at the benefits of using thermal transfer printing and specifically the LabelTac 4 Pro ribbon.
What features come with the LabelTac 4 Pro Ribbon?
The LabelTac 4 Pro ribbon itself is an acrylic adhesive that when applied to LabelTac supply, will create an extremely strong bond. Ribbon comes in seven rich and vibrant colors including yellow, white, black, green, orange, red, and blue. The ribbon will create letters and symbols that will not fade or smudge over time and is especially developed for withstanding the elements of an industrial environment. LabelTac labels will last up to 5 years with outdoor application and even longer when posted inside.
This ribbon can be described as a high-gloss and high-performance film that will be resistant to most oils and greases, aliphatic solvents, weak acids, salts and alkalis. The signs and labels you create with LabelTac 4 Pro Ribbon will also not be compromised under UV rays and fade. LabelTac ribbon is also resistant to temperature, ranging from -40ºF all the way to 176ºF.
The newer LabelTac printer models are designed with a larger capacity for ribbon, and the LabelTac 4 Pro Ribbon comes in spools that are 984-feet long. This means you will only need to switch out the ribbon for every ten rolls of supply used.
LabelTac 4 Pro Ribbon and Supply
To save money and the effort of choosing each specific supply for a labeling project, Creative Safety Supply does offer supply bundles for this very reason! From a rack labeling bundle to 5S, there are several bundles available and each are customizable.
For instance, a pipe marking bundle includes different sizes of supply in yellow, red, green and blue along with a roll of black and white ribbon. The OSHA bundle features solid yellow and orange supply, along with die-cut header supply bearing the following signal words: NOTICE, CAUTION, WARNING, and DANGER. This bundle also comes with a roll of LabelTac 4 Pro ribbon in black.
Another option to using specifically designed ribbon in conjunction with labels is the UltraChem option. The UltraChem ribbon comes in black and the UltraChem supply comes in white. The labels you create with these will be highly resistant to many chemicals including acetone, ethanol, paint thinner, xylene, brake fluid, water, and much more. UltraChem will guarantee your labels will not smudge and smear when faced with chemicals.
The possibilities of labels you can create using the LabelTac 4 Pro ribbon along with the corresponding printer and supply are virtually endless. Whether you’re creating GHS labels or want to mark cables, LabelTac gives you the freedom and creativity to print labels that are perfect for your facility!
